FinishSaint Sophia Cathedral, built in 1907, is a landmark of Harbin and the most comprehensively preserved classic Byzantine style cathedral in China. It is also the biggest Orthodox Eastern Church in the far-east. The most outstanding part of the building is the huge onion-like dome in the middle. Above the gate is the bell tower, with the seven copper musical clocks with seven corresponding notes. Well-trained bellmen use all their limbs to get the bells ringing out. This is an artistic church filled with culture. People can take a pleasant walk on the square of Saint Sophia Cathedral in the afternoon and watch pigeons flying around, giving one an illusion of being in a foreign country.
