Yuntai Mountain is rich in geological heritage, including rock layers dating back 3.4 billion years. Over more than 3 billion years, strata from the Archean, Proterozoic, Paleozoic and Cenozoic formed here. In particular, over the past 23 million years, intense neotectonic uplift and deep incision by water erosion have carved out a series of canyons with opposing cliffs, along with waterfalls, springs, streams and pools. Together, these features form the distinctive "Yuntai Landform."

Yuntai Mountain is worth seeing in every season.

In spring, melting ice and snow bring the landscape back to life. Flowing streams and blooming wildflowers make it an inviting destination for spring outings, flower viewing and relaxation. In summer, lush primary and secondary forests, together with abundant waterfalls and springs, create Yuntai Mountain's striking, picturesque scenery and make it a popular summer retreat. In autumn, the mountains burst into color and the leaves blaze red. Climb to the peaks, take in the autumn scenery, wear cornel sprigs for good fortune, admire the red leaves and let your thoughts wander afar. In winter, nature cloaks Yuntai Mountain in silver. The vast mountain ranges are rugged and majestic, presenting a grand, austere northern landscape.

Hongshi Gorge: The gorge's iron-rich rocks have a reddish-brown hue. Formed from marine sediments 1.2 billion years ago and later uplifted by tectonic movements, the gorge features a striking contrast between its red cliffs and emerald pools. The sightseeing route is a one-way loop about 2 kilometers long.
