Yiwu: The "World Supermarket" Welcomes You to Shop
Published: June 2, 2026
Editor: Ruoxi

Small commodities, big world. Welcome to Yiwu—arrive with empty bags and leave fully loaded.

China Yiwu International Trade City features more than 80,000 booths and over 2.1 million product varieties, ranging from jewelry and traditional handicrafts to hardware parts and smart devices—all under one roof.

Merchants have embraced a hybrid wholesale-and-retail model, allowing casual visitors to enjoy the advantages of bulk purchasing. To enhance the "procurement-style tourism" experience, sellers provide comprehensive logistics services, including global direct shipping, eliminating the need to carry large purchases.

Yiwu is building a diverse cultural and commercial ecosystem where visitors can "taste world cuisine, buy global goods, and make friends worldwide." Fotang Ancient Town retains the charm of its cobblestone streets and is home to more than 20 intangible cultural heritage skills, with regular live demonstrations such as dough figurine making and paper cutting. The Dahanjian Scenic Area combines natural landscapes with intangible cultural heritage performances, creating a seamless blend of nature and culture. The city is home to more than 500 international dining establishments serving flavors from 50 countries and regions. European and American restaurants, Arabic grills, African eateries, Indian curry houses, and Korean restaurants can be found throughout the city.

Yiwu has transformed itself into a citywide cultural, commercial, and tourism destination. The "Discover Yiwu" (Yiwu Haohao Guàng) cultural-tourism IP has generated more than 100 co-branded products. Last year, the city hosted more than 200 international events, including the signature "Global 24 Time Zones Party."

Arrival

Yiwu Airport is included in the 240-hour visa-free transit policy. Citizens of 54 eligible countries can enter China through Yiwu and stay for up to 10 days, with the freedom to travel across provinces. The airport offers a first-stop consultation service for inbound travelers and has launched the "Yiqifei" (Easy Fly) international transfer brand, enabling the convenience of "single check-in, global arrival." Multilingual signage has been installed across transportation hubs and major scenic attractions.

Shopping

The Chinagoods platform at Yiwu International Trade City features an Al translation/interpretation officer that supports real-time communication in 116 languages. The city operates 39 tax-refund stores and has piloted a "pre-packaged & scannable" facilitation model at the airport. Visitors can use the instant-refund service to complete tax rebates in as little as 2 minutes, enjoyingthe smooth and convenient shopping experience.

Departure

The "U-Guo Zhixing" (Smart Luggage) check-in service network covers nearly 20 hotels and scenic areas, allowing visitors to travel light and shop freely. Yiwu also operates a one-stop mediation center for foreign-related disputes, staffed with foreign mediators so international visitors can travel and shop with confidence.
