The Peking Man Site at Zhoukoudian is located on Dragon Bone Hill in Fangshan District, southwest Beijing. With its abundant water sources and natural caves, the area provided an ideal environment for ancient humans to survive and thrive. The Zhoukoudian Site is one of the Pleistocene paleoanthropological sites with the richest finds, most complete materials, and greatest scientific significance in the world, and archaeological research at the site continues to this day.

The Peking Man Site at Zhoukoudian consists of two parts: the site area and the museum, both of which are open to the public year-round. The site area includes multiple fossil localities such as the Ape Man Cave, the New Cave, and the Upper Cave. The museum houses a large collection of precious cultural relics, animal fossils, and stone tools, and also features a range of interactive science programs, including 3D animation, simulated excavation, hands-on making, bone needle polishing, and model assembly.
