Tubole National Forest Park holds the Greater Khingan Range's richest, most mellow autumn. You can climb high for the view, walk through the woods, meet a deer, and ride across the hills—a single day here brings a whole range of autumn scenery.

Tubole Peak
At 1,108 meters above sea level, it is the only summit on the southern slopes of the Greater Khingan Range with a full view of the surrounding peaks. Its name comes from Mongolian, meaning “peace,” and it is revered as a guardian peak of peace—a representative ancient volcanic site in the Greater Khingan Range. From the top, you can take in a 360° view of the range's vast forest sea, with layers of gold, orange-red, and deep green spreading out in autumn, with no obstruction to the view. Morning light is clear and translucent, ideal for panoramic shots. As the wind sweeps over the treetops, the whole mountain's autumn colors unfold before you.
Wanxiang Forest
A native forest where birches and larches grow intermingled. In autumn, golden leaves fill the branches and light and shadow scatter through the gaps. Sunlight leaks through the canopy, fallen needles are soft underfoot, and when the wind blows, leaves rustle down. It is highly photogenic and a favorite area for photographers.
Forest Deer Park
A herd of sika deer roams the woods here—gentle and lively by nature. As you walk slowly closer and offer them feed by hand, they lower their heads and nibble, their warm breath on your palm—a tender encounter in the mountain wilds.
Horse Riding Ground
You can ride slowly toward the depths of the forest sea, hooves crossing the meadows, autumn wind sweeping over the treetops. Amid the rolling hills, you feel a wildness found only in the Greater Khingan Range.
At night, you can stay in a stargazing room on the mountain—lie in bed and see the stars. In autumn, there is little light pollution on the mountain, and the Milky Way is especially clear.
Forest sea by day, Milky Way by night—at Tubole, autumn is a spectacle from dawn to dusk.
