Shaomei (Steamed Pork Dumpling)

Shaomei is Shaomai (Steamed Pork Dumpling) in Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces. It has different names in different places. Its production process: wrap the sticky rice, diced mushrooms, minced meat, and black pepper with a thin wrapper, and then put it in a steamer to steam. It is a little spicy but very tasty.

The stuffing, between Wuhan Shaomei and North China Shaomai, isn’t very different. The stuffing in Wuhan Shaomei consists of diced meat, mushrooms, bamboo shoot, and delicious black pepper. The black pepper is a little spicy, but the taste is absolutely authentic.
