The Museum of the Imperial Palace of “Manchukuo”

The Museum of the Imperial Palace of "Manchukuo" is a restoration of Puyi’s (the last emperor of China) former living and working environment. In the imperial palace, a large number of historical materials and cultural relics are exhibited, from which people can learn about the first half of the last emperor’s reign and the evidences of crimes committed by Japanese invaders. Upon entering the gate of the museum, Puyi’s former horse ranch and flower storage cellar can be seen. In the east is the main complex. In the Qinmin Palace, Puyi’s former office building, imperial clothing can be seen; in the Huaiyuan Palace, where Puyi used to worship his ancestors, Puyi’s Parker car is on display; you can also visit the Jixi Palace, the living area of Puyi and queen Wanrong; and in the Tongde Hall, a cinema can be seen, as well as a piano room and other entertainment venues. Go further east and you will come to the east imperial garden. In this Japanese-style garden, there is an imperial swimming pool, a rock garden, and an underground air raid shelter. You can also visit the imperial library to see the paintings and calligraphy works that Puyi brought here from the Imperial Palace in Beijing.

Leaving the main complex, you can see a steam locomotive made in the United States in 1889. Opposite the locomotive is the Museum of the History of the Fall of Northeast China, where more than 1,000 historical relics retell the history of the Japanese invasion of northeast China.
