Mount Huangshan is located in Huangshan City in southern Anhui Province (The scenic area is directly under the jurisdiction of Huangshan City). In China, there are “three famous mountains and five sacred mountains,” and Mount Huangshan is one of “three famous mountains.”

There are 800-some attractions in the scenic area. A total of 77 peaks are more than 1,000 meters above sea level, and the named peaks include 36 big peaks and 36 small peaks. The three main peaks are more than 1,800 meters above sea level, and each of them has its own characteristics. For example, Lianhua Peak (or Lotus Peak) is magnificent; Guangmingding Peak (Bright Summit Peak) is tall and spacious; and Tiandu Peak (Celestial Capital Peak) is precipitous. Oddly-shaped pines, oddly shaped rocks, seas of clouds, hot springs, and winter snow are crowned as the “five wonders” of Mount Huangshan. Of more than 100 famous pines here, 32 are inscribed on the World Heritage List. Among the oddly shaped rocks, 120-some have their own names. They evoke a lot of imagination and contrast finely with the strangely shaped pines. The sea of clouds is magical and makes Mount Huangshan tranquil yet dynamic. The carbonate spring water on the mountain can be bathed in and is also potable, the temperature of which is consistently around 42 ℃ throughout the year. The winter snow is even more commonly recognized as the ultimate beauty of Mount Huangshan.
