The Wudang Mountains Ancient Architectural Complex

The Wudang Mountains Ancient Architectural Complex is located in a sprawling ravine at the foot of the picturesque Wudang Mountains in Hubei. The complex epitomizes secular and religious architecture and art from the Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties.

The main relics at the Wudang Mountains Ancient Building Complex include the Taihe Palace, Purple Cloud Palace, Nanyan Palace, Mozhen Well, and the combination of other exquisite architectural structures and outstanding sculpture art are a fitting testimony to the ancient Chinese people's intelligence, wisdom and artistic innovation, standing as representative examples of the height of traditional Chinese architectural art over the last 1,000 years.

In December 1994, the Wudang Mountains Ancient Building Complex was recognized as a World Heritage Site.
