FinishThe Hunan Provincial Museum was established in the early 1950s. Located in the Kaifu District of historic Changsha and next to Martyr Memorial Park, it is a renowned comprehensive historic and artistic museum.
The Hunan Provincial Museum has a collection of rich cultural relics, holding up to more than 180,000 items, and among them, 763 pieces are the first grade. The most distinctive antiques are the renowned Chinese foreign Mawangdui Han tomb relics, Shang and Zhou Bronze ware, Chu cultural relics, ceramics, calligraphy and paintings, modern cultural relics and so on. The museum is covered in green shades and is quiet. The old exhibition building, the office building, and the new exhibition building form a mixture of architecture from different times. The new exhibition building built at the end of the 20th century has a humble yet grand aura. It has become one of the landmark buildings of Changsha because of the profound Hunan culture reflected through the unique architectural style.
