Du Fu Thatched Cottage Museum

The Du Fu Thatched Cottage Museum is located on the bank of Huanhuaxi (Flower Rinsing Creek) in the western suburbs of Chengdu. It is the former residence of Du Fu, a Tang Dynasty poet who lived in Chengdu, and also contains some of his unique relics.

Du Fu’s Thatched Cottage was built in the Qing Dynasty style and is a unique “mixed” classical garden in China, integrated with a memorial temple structure and former residence. In 1985, Du Fu Thatched Cottage was conferred the title of Du Fu Thatched Cottage Museum, combined with the Plum Garden and the Thatched Cottage Temple. The museum has a collection of more than 30,000 volumes of various historical records and 2,000 pieces of valuable cultural relics.
