FinishQingyan Ancient Town, located in the southern suburbs of Guiyang City, is one of the four ancient towns in Guizhou Province, and has a history of more than 360 years.
The ancient town was built along a mountainside due to the typical karst landform in Guiyang, and both the gates and walls are built of stone. The people here are simple and honest. It was originally a military fort where a lot of the ancient buildings were made using exquisite workmanship during the Ming and Qing dynasties. The stone and wood carvings are well worth seeing. There are many ancient buildings in the town, such as the Longquan Temple, Ciyun Temple, Guanyin Temple, Yaowu Temple, Heichan Temple and Zhao Guoshu Temple amongst others. Besides the buildings, the town’s local delicacies are also well worth a try, and include spicy chicken, stewed pig trotters, pickled radish, ice red bayberry and others.
