Xining

Xining is the capital of Qinghai province and a central city in northwest China. Xining, formerly called "Xiping Prefecture" and "Qingtang City", was a stronghold of ancient China in defending against nomadic nations and securing peace, which is the origin of its name (Xining meaning “peaceful western frontier”). Xining also serves as Qinghai’s hub for politics, economy, culture, education, science and education, transportation and communication.

Xining has long been a dazzling pearl on the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau throughout its long history of civilization, blessed natural resources and fascinating folk culture. Arguably, Xining is a great stop for westward tours with its rich tourism hotspots at Ta'er Temple, Dongguan Mosque, Xining Forest Canyon, the vast Qinghai Lake and many other places.
