Zhengzhou

Zhengzhou, the provincial capital of Henan Province, is a pivot in east-central China. It also serves as the economic center for the Central Plains economic region, as well as a major transportation hub for Central China.

This ancient city is an important cradle of Chinese civilization as it is the birthplace of the Yellow Emperor, recognized as the ancestor of Chinese people. Historically, it was the capital of five dynasties and a prefecture made by eight imperial courts. It is one of the Eight Great Ancient Capitals of China, and a member of the League of Historical Cities. Zhengzhou has two World Cultural Heritage programs in 15 locations and more than 70 major historical and cultural sites protected at the national level, including the Birthplace of the Yellow Emperor, Ruins of Shangcheng City, "The Centre of Heaven and Earth" as well as other historical and cultural sites.
