Chongqing

Chongqing is China's largest direct-controlled municipality and lies along the upstream of Yangtze River in Southwest China. Its city flower is the camellia. Cocooned by mountains, Chongqing is known as a "Mountain City", and also known as a "River City" as the Yangtze and Jialing rivers converge here. Charming night views win it the title of "Little Hong Kong". Moreover, Chongqing is also known as the "Hot Spring Capital of the World" for its particularly rich source of hot springs.

With a subtropical monsoon humid climate, the city enjoys distinct seasons with warm winters, early springs, hot summers, and cool autumns, as well as a long frost-free period. It is best to travel to Chongqing in spring and autumn. As a National Famous Historical and Cultural City, Chongqing is home to a number of natural and cultural sites like the Three Gorges, Dazu Rock Carvings, and Wulong Karst.
